‘Bella’ the therapy dog retires

‘Bella’ the therapy dog officially retired on Tuesday after helping more than 1,000 cancer patients at the Upstate Cancer Center over more than three years.
She is a 10-year-old Burnese Mountain Dog who has worked as a therapy dog at both the Upstate Cancer Center and at the Joslin Diabetes Center.
The past 3 years of Bella’s career has been spent helping patients at the Upstate Cancer Center, interacting with more than 1,000 patients.
Upstate officials marked Bella’s last day with a presentation fo dog toys in the center’s atrium.
Her owner says that Bella’s retirement will include long walks on Onondaga Lake Parkway.
