Therapy Dog Welcome in Oncology Department

For many people, a visit to the hospital for a round of chemotherapy can be filled with stress and anxiety. But oncology patients at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Richmond say their visits are made easier by a long-time member of the oncology team, a Labrador Retriever named Betine. Says one physician who values the therapy dog’s presence: “She brings a sense of calm and pure love.”
