Therapy dog nominated for national award

A comfort therapy dog from Pittsburgh has been nominated for a national award.
Penny, who provides comfort to women, children and families going through the court systems as victims of domestic violence and abuse, has been nominated for the 2020 American Humane Hero Dog Award.
Penny’s work at Crisis Center North has been so important that there is now a second comfort therapy dog there, Allegheny County officials said. Voting for the award is underway.
If Penny were to receive the award, she will appear in a Hallmark movie giving her and Crisis Center North national recognition for the important work they do.
